The moment Samson stepped into the show ring, he took it by storm. He finished his championship easily, with multi group and group 1st placings, along with puppy groups. He continued his show career into adulthood, and continued to consistently place.

Not only was he handsome, but he had charisma in the obedience ring. He earned his Canadian Companion Dog title in 3 straight trials with scores of 189, 188 and 188, and his American title as well, with scores of 191, 191 and 188 ½. Sampson secretly had his own agenda while performing in the open ring. While in Winnipeg, between each of the exercises, he left my side only to run and jump over the high jump and return to my side - relishing in the thunderous applause by his captive audience. He qualified in all 3 trials that weekend bring home his Companion Dog Excellent title.

He was also very gifted at the Utility level. He was the first and only dog I have ever met who could turn his head and look away, and still see hand signals. Unfortunately, his utility career was cut short due to a back injury, and he never was able to compete in the ring.
