AKC Invitational & other activities December 2003 - San Diego, California
Needing to get away and see great dogs in action, Linda, owner of K-9 Studio, was fortunate enough to see the top dogs in breed, obedience and agility competition sharpen themselves to try to be the best of the best in the USA! Also while there, she assisted and participated in tracking workshops, visited a schutzhund trial, agility trial, and got to spend time at the zoo! The Ed Presnall Tracking Workshops gave her vast
opportunities to see more dogs of various breeds, experience tracking for the first time, and others who
required honing up on their Variable Surface Tracking skills. She greatly
appreciates Thunder Bay's tracking areas, with their lack of mountain lions, big
spiders, and rattlesnakes, although a moose did pose a problem last year on the
way home from tracking. The Park Bench Cafe had a doggie menu, with fresh cold water, where you could enjoy a salad, sandwich or burger with your dog. In this great public park, we challenged dogs on variable surface tracks. A large public library was not to far off, along with an off leash park and ponds with ducks, ducks, and more ducks. Kathleen and Spanky, a Portugese Water Dog, had their first experience tracking (the one in the hat below), and with her excitement, came up with words to a great tracking song!!!
