Saturday Morning Show Handling & Mat Time

Our Saturday morning Show Class and Mat Time are split into two classes - one for large dogs, and another for small. We encourage owners to show their own dogs to achieve their championship titles. Play, socialization with other dogs and people is very important in our classes. All of our instructors are experienced breeders who pride themselves in successfully bringing many of their homebred stock to their Championship titles, aside from achieving high ranking achievements within their breed, group or the world of dogdom.

Our classes are taught in a friendly, relaxed and stimulating environment to inspire and encourage confidence and teamwork in both dog and handler.

Our instructors have great personal satisfaction and pride in seeing K-9 Studio students from our show classes excel in the ring.

Because weekends are busy with dog shows and other events, participants of the Saturday morning show class should double check the Calendar on the wall at K-9, or call Linda @ 577-7850, Coralee @ 577-7753, Arletta @ 577-1039  - they can let you know if there is a class. There is NEVER a class the weekend of or after a local dog show.

Cora Lee (Rustinwood Shih Tzu)     Show Handling Instructor

My experience in dogs has been mainly with Shih Tzu, and primarily in conformation. "Camper" and I had a brief side step into obedience to achieve his Companion Dog Excellent title, with much help and encouragement from the trainers at K-9 Studio. I finished my first Shih Tzu in 1983 and since then have bred or owned over 40 Canadian Champions, five of whom were Best In Show winners.

We attempt to make our classes on Saturday fun for the dogs, a great venue for socializing puppies, and a positive experience for their handlers. It's great fun to watch puppies develop from unsure babies to self assured show dogs.

I am a member of the Canadian Kennel Club, the Canadian Shih Tzu Club and the American Shih Tzu Club.
